Courtney Blazon’s Debut NFT Collection Launches in Decentraland June 1 at 11:30 PM UTC (7:30 EST) at Coordinates 87, -26

As NFTs grow in popularity as investment tools, established artists are entering the market to sell their work as NFTs for prices that reflect the value of the time and skill it has taken them to achieve such mastery.

Courtney Blazon is one such artist, and her newly animated work launches June 1st at the META Gallery in Decentraland. META Gallery is a new project by Art 3—a REAL NFT ART exhibition on the Blockchain. Art 3 is selecting artists of high quality and merit who haven’t yet had to opportunity to explore what the blockchain has to offer, helping artists create their own accounts, wallets, and learning how to mint and sell their work as an NFT. Alongside the NFT ownership, the collector will receive the original artwork from the artist, or high quality print if the original artwork is a digital drawing.

META Gallery opens June 1 in Decentraland with artist Courtney Blazon. Courtney Blazon is an artist and illustrator living and working in Missoula, MT. She is a graduate from Parsons School of Design, where she received her BFA in Illustration. She’s shown in Missoula at the Brink Gallery, Dana Gallery, Missoula Art Museum, and outside of Montana, she has been shown in Seattle, Portland, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, and most recently at the Center for the Arts Theater Gallery in Jackson, Wyoming. Her work has been featured in New American Paintings (Western Edition), Studio Visit Magazine, and juxtapoz.com. She is a past recipient of a Montana Arts Council Artists Innovation Award. She is represented by Radius Gallery in Missoula, MT.

Courtney’s pen and marker drawings reference fields of science, history, cultural studies, myths and fairy tales. Her images take us someplace between the known world and dreamscape, a surreal marriage of naturalism and fantasy. The results can be simultaneously whimsical and grotesque, witty as well as disturbing. The tension of these unions suggests our own struggle to achieve balance in a chaotic world.
